August 10, 2015 (Toronto, Ontario) –\u00a0The\u00a0<\/strong>SOCAN Foundation today announced eight recipients of the fifth annual SOCAN Foundation Awards for Young Audio-visual Composers.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s competition attracted 46 entries, awarding $21,000 to eight prizewinners. \u201cThis is a unique competition, the only one of its kind in Canada,\u201d says Rick MacMillan, Manager, SOCAN Foundation. \u201cIt offers us an excellent opportunity to spotlight the many talented composers working in Canada\u2019s vibrant film and television industries.<\/p>\n

Eli Bennett was awarded the following SOCAN Awards:<\/p>\n

– Second prize in the Non-fiction category for \u201cBelieve: The True Story of Real Bearded Santas\u201d<\/p>\n

– Shared second prize in the Fiction category for \u201cJobless\u201d<\/p>\n
